Tourist favorite Santorini a desert island after thousands of quakes | DW News

Greece’s prime minister has visited the island of Santorini to assure residents that authorities are doing everything in their power to protect the island from earthquake shocks.
Thousands of tremors have hit Santorini in the past two weeks — the strongest had a magnitude of 5.1. The quakes have caused residents and tourists to leave for the mainland in droves, leaving much of the island deserted.
