Tariffs on Canadian and Mexican products set to go into effect on February 4th have been paused for a month. U.S. President Donald Trump said he was levying a 25% tariff on goods from America’s closest neighbors as a way to stop illegal immigration and fentanyl from crossing the border. At the last minute, he backed down from those executive orders. According to The Tax Foundation, Trump’s tariff plan could cost the average American family more than $800 per year.
