STORYLINE:
The head of a hospital in central Israel that was treating freed hostage Agam Berger said on Thursday she had returned to Israel in "good condition".
Berger, a 20-year-old Israeli soldier, was one of eight hostages in the Gaza Strip freed by Hamas-led militants Thursday as part of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.
Israel is set to release 110 Palestinian prisoners later Thursday in exchange.
Berger was among five young, female soldiers abducted when militants overran the Nahal Oz military base during the October 7, 2023, attack that ignited the war, killing over 60 soldiers there.
The other four were released Saturday.
Eytan Wirtheim, the CEO of Beilinson hospital in Petah Tikva, gave an update on their conditions saying the four were "improving daily".
The releases are part of a ceasefire aimed at ending the deadliest and most destructive war ever fought between Israel and Hamas, and securing the release of dozens more hostages abducted in the Hamas-led attack.
