“Here behind me in the Palazzo Armani in the Chic eighth round is a model of Paris. Giorgio Armani, now 90 years old, celebrated 20 years of couture with an intimate collection. The designs revisited the style archives set beneath gold gilded ceilings, as thumping music and celebrities like Demi Moore tapping their feet. Stand-out looks included a segmented black silk gown with silver threads that gleamed like oil. An Asian-inspired fitted jacket sparkling with very intricate embroideries, full skirts so encrusted with jewels that they strung heavily. Even making sounds as the models walked. Armani himself took a long, heartfelt applause at the end as visibly emotional guests watched him walk by. A powerful moment celebrating his legacy of elegance and refinement.”
