Donald Trump’s first day as the US president is underway and began with a national prayer service at Washington National Cathedral.
The newly confirmed Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, became the first of the cabinet nominees to take his oath of office in a ceremony overseen by the vice president.
Rubio delivered a speech at the state department, thanking his family for their support, saying “it is an honour to lead this agency”.
