STORYLINE:
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed on Tuesday that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas should be reached immediately, adding that "the time has come".
His comments came during a news conference held with his counterpart from Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, who’s on an official visit to discuss bilateral relations.
Bettel insisted that there must be a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and an establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
"The peace of Palestine will be the security of Israel," he added.
Separately, Abdelatty spoke on the evolving security situation in Syria, saying that "no refuge should be provided for terrorists".
He added that it includes "a platform provided for people to incite against other countries in the region or to be a source of threat.“
