There is no issue more important than security for Europe and there is no issue more important than spending on security, organization and the three basic pillars of a strong Europe. This is a strong society, that is, our resistance to hybrid warfare. This is a strong army, strong national armies and the strength of our alliance."

STORYLINE:
The defense ministers of five European members of NATO met near Warsaw on Monday to discuss security issues at a critical time.
The meeting comes as Russia’s war in Ukraine has dragged on nearly three years and as Europe prepares to deal with the Trump administration.
Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz opened the meeting by saying that security is the key issue of current times.
“Security is the most important issue today. There is no issue more important than security for Europe and there is no issue more important than spending on security," he said.
The meeting brings together Kosiniak-Kamysz with defense ministers Boris Pistorius of Germany, Sebastien Lecornu of France, Luke Pollard of Britain and Guido Crosetto of Italy.
