Emergency crews battling to bring the Los Angeles wildfires under control are preparing for the return of more dangerous weather conditions. High winds are forecast through Wednesday, and the city’s fire chief says the threat is still ‘very high’.
24 people have now been confirmed dead, with more than a dozen missing. California’s governor is launching a fund to rebuild areas devastated by the fires. DW’s Stefan Simons has visited communities whose losses have brought them closer together.
