Firefighting Plane Damaged by Civilian-Flown Drone

A firefighting plane has been grounded in California after it was hit by a civilian-flown drone. The Los Angeles Fire Department said on X, formerly Twitter, this SuperScooper plane was flying over the Palisades fire when it collided with a drone that was not assigned to the fire. The LAFD says the plane, Quebec 1, will be out of service until the wing damage can be repaired. It also said the FAA is investigating the incident.
