A powerful earthquake struck Tibet this week, estimated between 6.8 and 7.1 magnitude. Its effects were devastating. Witnesses shared footage of rubble-strewn streets of a city in the Himalayas region, known as the gateway to Mount Everest. Building materials were scattered everywhere, and a car was crushed by falling debris. China’s state-run television reported at least 120 deaths and over 180 injuries from the quake.
