5. SOUNDBITE (English) Prince Jackson, Co-Founder, Heal Los Angeles Foundation:
"This is out fourth year doing this event. It originated because when I was younger, for me, when it was birthdays or Christmas or whatever it is, my dad would shut down the toy store and he would take my siblings and I and say, ‘Fill up a cart, you throw whatever you want in there.’ I also know when my cousins were younger, like T.J., Tage and Terrell, that’s a lot of things that they used to do with him. So, the idea originated from him and we take a lot of inspiration from him for the foundation, and that’s how this started. So, we reached out to Mattel. It’s like four years ago, and we told them kind of the idea that we had and they had a perfect location."

"I come from a very rich family history, and those are some big shoes to fill. I don’t know if I ever could, but I wear it with – it’s like a badge of honor. You know, my siblings and I, we each kind of got a piece of him in different ways. For me, it’s that philanthropic, kind of giving back, and that’s where I’m really passionate about. And, you know, I just hope the work that we do makes him proud. And it warms my heart when we see the kids smile at the end of the day. So, it’s really fun, fun time."

12. SOUNDBITE (English) Prince Jackson, Co-Founder, Heal Los Angeles Foundation:
"It’s fun to see the difference in kids. You’ll have some kids who will come in and they’re just so excited. They’re throwing everything in and they’re like, ‘I need to get something for my sister. I need to get something for my cousin.’ And then you have kids who come in and they’re very timid and they’ll just like put one thing in the cart. You’re like, ‘We have a lot more space.’ And then, ‘Do you want to get anything for…’ A lot of them, what I really appreciate, is when they’re done getting their toys, they immediately think of brother, sister, cousin, friends. And I think that’s part of this kind of holiday spirit, right, is being able to give to others. And it’s it warms my heart that our kids are seeing that well, we have the opportunity to give to others as well.’"
