STORYLINE:
Ministers from the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation gathered Wednesday in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, east of Cairo.
The meeting comes one day ahead of the D-8 summit that will take place in Egypt.
The meeting comes amid regional and global tensions including the Israel-Hamas war and the latest developments in Syria.
The organization includes Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation was founded in 1997.
The group aims at enhancing the economy of the member states as well as creating trade opportunities and upgrading the livelihoods of citizens.
