"Today we have reopened the western sector of the Domus Aurea, closed to the public for several years and with this sector you can see very fascinating rooms such as the Hall of the Vault of the Owls, the Hall of the Yellow Vault with the signature of a Renaissance artist like the painter Pinturicchio, because this place was a place of inspiration for Raphael and all the Renaissance painters.”

“We are very grateful to Alfonsina Russo for involving us in this reopening of the western sector. Domus Aurea, which is a historic date for the public use of this monument, let’s say. We did it at his request with his proposal with a loan from the Uffizi collection, whose origin is unknown but whose aesthetics and iconographic model certainly allow us to refer to Hellenistic Alexandrian models from the Neronian era. Moreover, the same type of iconography occurs in painting as the vaults of the Domus Aurea, so this loan allows the visitor to temporarily immerse themselves, even if in a fragmentary way, into the cultural and aesthetic universe of the Roman world of the first Century after Christ”.
