2. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin:
"So far, no one has taken any official steps in this regard (suggesting a ceasefire during the Paris Olympic Games). The (Russian) President (Vladimir Putin) was repeatedly asked such questions. The President and our military brought to attention (the fact) that the Kyiv regime usually used such ideas, such initiatives for the attempts to regroup (its troops), for the attempts to rearm and so on. This, of course, makes the process of considering such initiatives significantly more difficult."

STORYLINE:
Russia hasn’t received any suggestions to cease fire in Ukraine during the Paris Olympic Games and the consideration of such initiatives was "difficult", its spokesman said Tuesday.
Dmitry Peskov said on his daily conference call with reporters that Putin "was repeatedly asked such questions".
"The President and our military brought to attention (the fact) that the Kyiv regime usually used such ideas, such initiatives for the attempts to regroup (its troops), for the attempts to rearm and so on," he said.
"This, of course, makes the process of considering such initiatives significantly more difficult," Peskov added.
