STORYLINE:
Hundreds of runners kicked off the Christmas season by lacing up their running shoes and donning a Santa Claus suit during Mexico City’s Santa Run.
Father Christmas, as well as a few Grinches were seen trotting along the 1-, 5- and 10-kilometer-long runs.
Participants, including some with their dogs, flooded the streets with the festive crimson tide of Christmas spirit.
"It’s exciting,” said Norma Angelica Espinoza, a bank worker who traveled from the neighboring state of Toluca for the race. “You feel the festivities; it was very nice."
