1. SOUNDBITE (English) Katherine Waterston, actor – on how she finds weapons training for acting roles ‘quite disturbing’:
"Always quite disturbing, I find, doing weapons training. I don’t love it, but I’m, you know, very nerdy. And I want it to be accurate."
(Reporter: "Why, why disturbing?")
"Because — because guns are horrific, and it’s not pleasurable to use them. Yeah, I suppose that just the lines of, you know, my politics on the matter and I don’t — I’ve lived in England for a long time and it’s really nice to live somewhere where it’s very unlikely that someone will shoot you. So, I have a very sort of visceral relationship to picking the weapons up. But we had an amazing team, the armorers and everything. It was all very safe and it is fun — the part that’s fun is the the contradiction within the character that she will be an ace shot and also be, you know intellectually bright."
