What the EU wants from Turkey when it comes to Syria | DW News

Turkey will get an extra one billion euros in EU funding to support Syrian refugees in the country. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen
made the announcement after holding talks in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. They both stressed the need for stability and unity in Syria. Von der Leyen also said Brussels would intensify its engagement with Syria’s new Islamist-led rulers, warning against a resurgence of the so-called Islamic State.
