2. SOUNDBITE (English) John Duesler Jr., President, PA Drone Association:
“We’ve been getting reports about a number of drones flying in a number of different places in New Jersey, and it’s creating quite a sensation, as drones tend to do. Actually, they are something that people really pay a lot of attention to, especially in this case, because we’re not quite sure what the drones are up to. They’re flying at night, which makes it a little more curious for people. We’re taking pictures, social media, capturing everything.”

4. SOUNDBITE (English) John Duesler Jr., President, PA Drone Association:
“I’ve been talking to my sources in New Jersey and they tell me that there really is nothing to be alarmed about. Even though the information we have is incomplete. I work with the FAA. I work with government agencies all the time for drone compliance. And our people can be confident that they are on the case. Basically, these drones, they give off a radio frequency. It’s like a license plate for drones. So we know where the drones are. We know what kind of drones they are. We know, you know, we’re going to find out who’s flying them. And I think that’s the curious part that people are looking for now, who is actually doing this?”

6. SOUNDBITE (English) John Duesler Jr., President, PA Drone Association::
“The thing that’s going to bring this to light is that it’s going to continue. And eventually the local forces, the government forces, FAA, they will find out exactly who’s doing this. There’s very little we can do without there being a traceable, you know, footprint, if you will, or airprint, and in this case.”

8. SOUNDBITE (English) John Duesler Jr., President, PA Drone Association:
“I would not recommend shooting these drones down. Even one foot off the ground is under federal jurisdiction for the FAA. So it is a felony to shoot a drone down. Drones are registered with the FAA. The pilots are registered. So I would highly recommend not to do that. What I would suggest if you see drones, report it to your authorities, try to get a time, a place.”

9. SOUNDBITE (English) John Duesler Jr., President, PA Drone Association:
"It has not necessarily been in our cities. It’s been more into the suburbs and more into the rural areas of New Jersey for sure. So it tells me people are really they’re going out of their way to do this a little bit, which makes me think that, you know, this is this is something more for fun or, you know, maybe just it’s not an imminent threat to our to our population. So the people are out there. They’re flying. They might be just flying for fun at night, for example. But I think the information will present itself shortly. I think the authorities are on this and we’re going to find out exactly what’s going on very shortly.”
