STORYLINE:
Syrians in Damascus continue celebrating the end of the 50-year rule of the Assad family.
People including fighters gathered at the streets of Umayyad square celebrating the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime
Assad reportedly fled the country after a sudden rebel offensive sprinted across government-held territory and entered the capital in 10 days.
Bassam Masri, a father of a detainee in the Syrian Regime prisons could not express his joy for the ousting of Assad saying “this happiness will not be completed until I can see my son out of the prison and know where he is."
Many of the capital’s residents were in disbelief at the speed at which Assad lost his hold on the country after nearly 14 years of civil war.
