1. SOUNDBITE (English) Andrew Bolton, fashion designer:
"Well, it’s about, reawakening costumes in the collection through the senses so you can actually smell garments. You can hear them. You can’t quite touch them. Yeah. So the idea is to reawaken garments in the collection."
(Reporter: "Thom, how did you interpret the theme by what you’re wearing today?")
SOUNDBITE (English) Thom Browne, designer:
"I am just like Andrew’s plus one. Yeah, wearing a skirt, but I am just here to celebrate Andrew’s show. Because I do feel like Andrew is the most important person in fashion, like, really making what we do, you know, elevated to the level of being here at the Met. So I’m here just to celebrate Andrew."

2. SOUNDBITE (English) Andrew Bolton, fashion designer:
"No. It’s extraordinary. I think it sort of, what Anna does so well is have such an extraordinary mix of people, you know. So there’s politicians, there’s actresses, there’s writers, there is sports athletes. I think it’s that whole mix that makes it so exciting."

3. SOUNDBITE (English) Lena Waithe, actor:
"I feel great. I feel calm. This is like my fourth Met I think so it’s a good time. (Reporter: So how did you decide what you were going to wear today?) Honestly, Etro, I saw this design and I was like, yeah, that’s what we’re doing. It’s their first Met. I’m honored to be wearing them. I rock Etro a lot, and it’s a really cozy fly. Jason Bolden, my stylist. He was going for like, New Jack City meets florals. So it’s a good look."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Jeff Goldblum, actor:
"It’s fantastic. Really really great. Anna Wintour, all these super, super stars here. It’s really great to be here and in New York City and for the purpose of raising money for this art community. And the theme, I’m sure, you know, somewhat based on that Jessie Ballard short story, ‘Garden of Time,’ if you read that. (Reporter: What did that mean to you?) Well, I tell you, if you know about it. Well, first of all, J.G. Ballard, same as my initials, JG."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Jeff Goldblum, actor:
"Yes, Tiffany has nothing to do with the J.G. Ballard, but Tiffany was very nice to me. This beautiful thing and these things and, you know, but, you know, we kind of kind of put together this thing. Prada, you know, Mrs. Prada. And those people over there did something like that."
(Reporter: Does that make you nervous?)
"I could be nervous if I were to give in to nervousness. But yeah, know that they’re keeping an eye on it. Yeah. Yeah. I’m nervous. You know, I mean, I don’t want anything to happen to it, but I would take responsibility in trying to keep the chain of custody intact."
