India has appointed career bureaucrat Sanjay Malhotra as the new governor of the nation’s central bank, ending weeks of speculation over who would helm monetary policy in the world’s fastest-growing major economy. The new governor, who has a master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University, will take charge of the Reserve Bank of India for a three-year term from December 11.
