It’s true evidence, it’s a true reminder that any long term decisions on long term security on the cost of Ukrainian security are inappropriate and unacceptable. STORYLINE:
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Tuesday the country’s fight against the Russian invasion had entered a "new reality".
"Engagement of North Korean troops, targeting of our nuclear energy objects… and also they used for the first time intermediate ballistic missile," Sybiha told reporters in Brussels.
The Kremlin fired a new intermediate-range ballistic missile at Ukraine last month which Russian president Vladimir Putin warned U.S. air defence systems would be powerless to stop.
Sybiha also showed reporters on Tuesday the "Budapest Memorandum" saying the document "failed to secure" Ukrainian and transatlantic security.
Under the international agreement signed in the Hungarian capital 30 years ago, Ukraine agreed to give up its Soviet-era atomic weapons, which amounted to the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal, in return for security guarantees from Russia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
"This document or this paper failed to secure Ukrainian security and transatlantic security. So we must avoid to repeat such mistakes," Sybiha said.
