Detectives say the gunman who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson spent the night before the killing in a $50-a-night hostel. He stayed in a dorm room with two other men. The strangers told police he "wore a mask most of the time." The assassin left chilling messages scrawled on three live rounds left at the scene. The words were “deny,” “defend,” and “depose.” The discovery is fuelling speculation that the killer had a grievance against either Thompson or UnitedHealthcare.
