"All the water come up. I’m moved up the hill. I’ve moved everything out of down there. I moved my camper up there, and I’ve been staying at my friend’s house."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Greg Moss, resident:
"The problem is all the development further up north. You know, they paved the roads or build houses and shopping centers and all that, and there’s nowhere more for the dirt to absorb the water. So it flies. It just comes down."

STORYLINE:
Floodwaters closed some Texas schools on Monday after days of heavy rains pummeled the Houston area and led to hundreds of rescues including people who were standed on rooftops.
A five-year-old boy died after riding in a car that was swept away in fast waters, authorities said.
Although forecasters expected storms to begin tapering off in southeastern Texas, high waters continued to close some roads and left residents facing lengthy cleanups in neighborhoods where rising river levels led to weekend evacuation orders.
