Parliament voted to overturn martial law | DW News

South Koreas President Yoon Suk Yeol now says he will lift martial law, just hours after declaring it. He says he would respect a vote by parliament calling on him to withdraw the measure. Crowds gathered outside the National Assembly building all night in opposition to President Yoon’s original declaration, made late on Tuesday. Troops were sent to the parliament building at one point and forced entry. But they have since been withdrawn.
