Georgia’s PM and president clash over EU path | DW News

Georgia’s capital Tbilisi has been hit by a fourth night of clashes outside parliament. Protesters have been gathering there since Thursday, which was when the government suspended efforts to join the European Union. Polls show that a clear majority of Georgians favor E-U membership. Many fear the ruling Georgian Dream party is trying to move closer to Russia. Georgia’s prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze has rejected calls for new elections.
