All tapes 3 mins approx
Tape One
1. Sit down interview with Tim Burton, director
"I remember we looked at a picture of Albert when he was in that movie, ‘Tom Jones’, and if you look at a picture of that and you look at a picture of Ewan, it’s quite shocking. There’s a certain thing in there, a smile, a certain thing in there…sort of just spirit, that is very connective and so I was very lucky about that because we weren’t trying to just do a mimicking job, it was really because Ewan’s part and Alison’s part were much the idealised versions, so it’s a bit fantastical and they still got to be them and kind of real people."
Tape Two
1. Sit down interview with Helena Bonham Carter
"Well I’m sort of sleeping with the director so there’s got to be some benefit except perhaps I’ll sleep with him more times then I’ll get bigger parts. You know the thing earlier when he said, ‘You can play Janey, Janey and the witch, so I went (gestures page turning) and then I realised it wasn’t huge but significant, very significant parts. They’re interconnected, when you watch the film, you realise how they all connect up and so in way, it’s actually one part but with different guises."
Tape Three
1. Sit down interview with Billy Crudup
"He feels like his father doesn’t see him. That his father doesn’t recognise him and that his father always is the centre of attention. And I think Will feels like sometimes he would like to be the centre of attention for his father and so therefore he becomes kind of reluctant to buy into all of his dad’s mythology and stories and humour and he kind of creates himself outside of his father in whatever way he can."
