Namibians are going to the polls to vote for a new parliament and president in an election that could transform the country’s political landscape.The ruling SWAPO party’s is looking to extend its 34 year hold on power, putting forward a female candidate for the first time. But its popularity has slipped as frustration grows over unemployment and poverty. The election is being held after incumbent Hage Geingob died in office in February.
