STORYLINE:
Snow fell in Paris on Thursday, dusting the capital’s iconic monuments in a thin layer of flakes.
Although it turned the so-called City of Light into a winter wonderland, the snow did cause a headache for some.
The Eiffel Tower had to close due to the weather conditions, but was expected to reopen on Friday afternoon.
Weather forecasters had put a large part of France on alert for the day as storm Caetano swept across the country.
With snow and strong winds expected, Paris Charles de Gaulle airport experienced significant delays and cancellations.
In some regions, schools had to close for the afternoon and temporary traffic restrictions were implemented.
