"SuperCat is a fundamental event for this city, which is a very cat-loving city, and it certainly helps cats in this way, because feline colonies are able to have cats adopted and also promote very important campaigns. In this particular edition, we’ve taken a big step forward, carrying out three very important campaigns in collaboration with the Ministry of Health: one about microchipping, one about not abandoning animals, and the third, which is very important and timely, about the moderate use of fireworks on New Year’s Eve, which are a major source of stress for animals."

24. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Nico Padovano, Vice-president of Italian National Feline Association (ANFI) and FIFe (Fédération Internationale Féline) judge:
"The process to become a judge is very long. It obviously starts with the first step, which is being a breeder, having bred a certain number of litters, and then beginning to assist as a steward, meaning assisting the judge in their activities. These are the people you see next to the judges, who help them during the day. Then there are other steps: you shadow the judges and work with many cats, because before taking the final exam, the student – the aspiring judge – must be ready and a connoisseur of those specific breeds."

"Today we’ve had eight out of ten cats adopted. There are still two looking for a home until 7 p.m. tonight. Tomorrow we’re bringing in eight more cats who need homes. We’ve been attending this wonderful event for many years. It’s important to us because, of course, we do this work every day. But this is a great opportunity because we have so many people who can adopt our cats here."
