STORYLINE:
Peruvian President Dina Boluarte delivered the closing remarks on Saturday in Lima as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting came to a close.

Boluarte said the APEC summit had an enormous impact in the "international positioning" of the Andean nation, as well as strengthening Peru’s foreign policy "in one of the most important and dynamic regions that is the Asia-Pacific."

APEC is the first major global summit since U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s election victory.

The annual gathering brings together 21 economies that jointly account for almost two-thirds of global GDP and half the world’s trade, according to organizers.
