After 28 years with U.S.VETS, CEO Stephen J. Peck will retire at the end of 2024. At this year’s U.S.VETS SALUTE Gala, Steve was honored with the Judge Harry Pregerson Public Service Award, named for U.S.VETS’ visionary founder and his friend and mentor. The video features special guests celebrating and honoring Steve, including: L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn; U.S.VETS Board Member Joe Czyzyk; U.S.VETS President & COO Darryl J. Vincent; Shalimar Cabrera, U.S.VETS national director of executive leadership; U.S.VETS client and Navy veteran Malcolm Harvey; and longtime partner Jeremy Zimmer, CEO of United Talent Agency.
Steve shepherded the growth of U.S.VETS. As a proud Marine who served in Vietnam, he came home with a bigger purpose: dedicating his life to #ServingThoseWhoServed. On Steve’s watch, the number of homeless veterans in the U.S. has fallen dramatically, from 74,087 in 2010 to 32,882 in 2024. #honorusvets
