1. SOUNDBITE (English) Ben Collins, Global Tetrahedron CEO:
“I had known some of the lawyers from the Sandy Hook (shooting victims) family. So I Imran, I was like, what does this look like? How do we actually do this? And we they gave us some information about how to how to get this moving. So then we we thought we could make a bid here and the families decided they would effectively join our bid back, our bid to try to get us over the finish line. Because by the end of the day, it was us or Alex Jones. That’s who could either continue this website unabated, basically unpunished for what he’s done to these families over the years. Or we can make a dumb, stupid website. And we decided to do the second thing. Thankfully, you know, Everytown (for Gun Safety) partnered with us on the launch of this thing. They were founded after Sandy Hook as a response to Sandy Hook. They’ve– they’ve long loved The Onion because we have this iconic headline that we publish every time there’s a mass shooting. It says ‘there’s no way to stop this says only nation where this regularly happens.’ We’ve published it 37 times verbatim after every mass shooting. So Everytown knows the power of that specific article shared around every time one of these happens. And we thought this might be a good partnership. Let’s take over this thing. You know, a good a good way to put (Everytown) ads on top of the dumbest website in the world that we’ve just acquired. And thankfully, we won. We’re still in shock. But here we are. We own– the Onion owns Infowars.”

2.SOUNDBITE (English) Ben Collins, Global Tetrahedron CEO:
“We look, we have. We really, We are very excited about where we can do this thing. The Onion is best when it sort of meets the media moments and has done that for the last 35 years of its existence. You know, first it was newspapers and then it was the Onion News Network, which went after cable news in its own way. And then we had to Clickhole that went after like the BuzzFeed part of the world. And now we clearly have a new media ecosystem where people try to scare you all day about the the big scary forces that are holding you down and try to fix that with supplements or try to fix that with weird, one weird trick products that they sell to you in their podcasts and on their Instagram accounts and in their TikTok pages.”

3. SOUNDBITE (English) Ben Collins, Global Tetrahedron CEO:
“All right. Yeah. Look, we’re going to go after all of the, like, every facet of alternative media that is trying to get you addicted to stupid stuff. Like, there is a whole world of podcasters and TikTok influencers who have some really curious ideas of the world. And I also think that we’re learning right now that they’re followings are just as big, if not bigger, than traditional celebrities. And they’re they’ve gone unmocked, they’ve gone– They got a free pass to this point. And we don’t think that that’s fair.”

(Reporter: “Can you say what the bid was?)
“It was $1 trillion, which I know, I know what you’re thinking, way too cheap. Incredibly. Like what a bargain. But we thought it was worth it. It’s just a small part of our media empire.”
REPORTER: “But seriously. (laughs)”
COLLINS: “I can’t say. I can’t say it (laughs).”
REPORTER: “Okay.”
