Banana Taped to Wall Artwork Expected to Fetch $1 Million

Remember this alleged work of art? Part of the shock of Maurizio Cattelan’s ‘Comedian’ was that it sold for $120,000 in 2019 at Art Basel in Miami. ‘Comedian’ is once again up for auction at Sotheby’s, and is expected to fetch over a million dollars, but art experts say it’s really the concept that’s up for sale.
