STORYLINE:
Renowned Lebanese designer Elie Saab celebrated 45 years in the fashion industry with a monumental show in Riyadh as part of the annual Riyadh Season, the region’s largest entertainment festival.
The event, titled 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab, showcased 300 of Saab’s iconic creations in an evening filled with music, celebrity appearances, and a vibrant display of Middle Eastern culture and style.
“This is one of the most amazing, spectacular moments in our lives as artists, as fashion, as everything,” said Egyptian actress Yousra on the red carpet. “Bringing them all here in this wonderful moment—you will see something unbelievable.”
The event featured a star-studded lineup, with Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry, who wore a Saab dress when she won her Oscar in 2002, attending the show.
The show opened with a high-energy musical performance by Jennifer Lopez. She was followed by performances from Camila Cabello, Celine Dion— with for her first live performance since the Paris Olympics—and Egyptian pop star Amr Diab.
The show, held in the Kingdom’s capital, reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a global cultural and entertainment hub, aiming to attract Western visitors and reshape its image. “The first thing I am proud of is to do this event in my region,” Saab said.
