13. SOUNDBITE (English) Erez Geller, regional director of the Magen David Adom emergency service:
“We had a rocket attack on the suburbs of Haifa, the Krayot area. We had a lot of rockets falling all over the place, so we sent a lot of ambulances, medics and EMTs, to do first aid, so far we evacuated four casualties. One is mildly wounded, and there are three minor wounded.”

STORYLINE:
Israel’s missile defense system intercepted dozens of projectiles fired from Lebanon on Monday, as one direct hit sparked a blaze in a suburb of the northern city of Haifa.
Authorities said one person was seriously injured and three others lightly wounded in the direct hit, which engulfed three buildings in flames and riddled a street full of cars with shrapnel.
Erez Geller, regional director of the Magen David Adom emergency service, said that many ambulances and medics were sent to the Krayot area in Kiryat Ata after the rocket attack.
Hezbollah began firing rockets, missiles and drones into Israel, and drawing retaliatory strikes, the day after Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack out of Gaza that ignited the war there.
All-out war erupted in September, when Israel carried out a wave of heavy airstrikes and killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and most of his top commanders.
