7. SOUNDBITE (English) Martin Shwartz, Israeli-American citizen:
"I feel that he is a good businessman. I’m familiar with his corporation, of what he’s done as a businessman. And basically, the governments are considered to be as business. And he would be someone that could take care of business, so to speak, as opposed to someone of Kamala Harris, which I feel being that she is associated with President (Joe) Biden. No disrespect, but I feel that the country has not gone in the correct direction with President Biden’s term."

STORYLINE:
Residents in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem shared their thoughts on the U.S. election on Wednesday as Republican Donald Trump was on the cusp of victory.

"I think that many people here in the country are happy that Trump won in terms of security," said Tel Aviv resident Asher Krispin.

"But I believe that Trump will be harder on us," Krispin added.

Israeli-American citizen Martin Shwartz said he believes that Trump is a "good businessman," likening governments to businesses.

Trump "would be someone that could take care of business, so to speak," Shwartz said.

Donald Trump has been elected the 47th president of the United States, an extraordinary comeback for a former president who refused to accept defeat four years ago, sparked a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, was convicted of felony charges and survived two assassination attempts.

"Today we won Trump’s victory. It’s a victory for all the American people, for all the Israeli people, and it’s a victory that erases every word of anti-Semitism in the world," Tel Aviv resident Ester Hadas said.

With a win in Wisconsin, Trump cleared the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency.
