"It’s been emotional. I’ve been on the phone banks for the last 3 hours for Everyone For Kamala and just being able to talk to folks in Pennsylvania, Michigan and North Carolina. And I just started Georgia. And I’ve done phone banking before, but nothing on this scale."

3. SOUNDBITE (English) Ken Jeong, actor:
"And then there’s been nice emotional moments too – where was talking to a wonderful lady whose mother had dementia and she’s voting and, you know, just talking about her family situation. No – it it that yeah – it gets me to my core, you know it really does."
STORYLINE:
Ken Jeong employed his physician "bedside manner" on Election Day as he made calls to Democrats in swing states for more than four hours Tuesday as part of the Kamala Harris campaign’s get-out-the-vote effort.

"It’s been emotional. I’ve been on the phone banks for the last 3 hours for Everyone For Kamala," the comedian and actor said. "It’s been quite inspiring. I’ve never been on something like this on such a grand scale. And to do it to do it in this fashion is quite unprecedented, absolutely."

Jeong said most of the people he called didn’t know who he was, but he randomly connected with a man in Michigan who had attended one of his standup shows.

"And then there’s been nice emotional moments too – where was talking to a wonderful lady whose mother had dementia and she’s voting and, you know, just talking about her family situation. No – it it that yeah – it gets me to my core, you know it really does," he said.

Jeong, who grew up in North Carolina and worked as a doctor before starting his career in Hollywood, said he enjoys talking with all voters, even those who make clear that they don’t agree with him politically.
