STORYLINE:
Dozens of desperate Palestinians gathered Saturday outside a UN-run facility in central Gaza to receive urgently-needed humanitarian aid including flour.
Associated Press footage showed Palestinians waiting outside the UNRWA warehouse in the city of Deir al-Balah as workers were distributing aid.
Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, is home to hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians from southern and northern Gaza.
Most live in extremely dire conditions in schools-turned-shelters and tent camps.
Israel severely restricted aid to Gaza in October, allowing in only about a third of the amount of humanitarian assistance that entered in September.
UNRWA’s activities in Israel, which controls key routes intro Gaza, were effectively banned by two Israeli laws passed on Tuesday.
Israel alleges that Hamas and other militants have infiltrated UNRWA, using its facilities and taking aid — claims for which it has provided little evidence
