Former president and Republican candidate Donald Trump has been trying to distance himself from Project 2025, a set of policy plans that Democrats say could serve as a blueprint for a second Trump term.
The ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation think-tank drafted the detailed set of policies in the hopes that he would adopt them.
The plans have become a subject of intense discussion ahead of Tuesday’s presidential election.
Trump has tried to distance himself from the project, but his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris has been determined to tie him to its more unpopular provisons.
The nearly 1,000-page document includes plans for mass deportations as well as gutting multiple government departments, and drastically expanding presidential power.
The project was largely drafted by past aides of Trump, and he has repeatedly sought to deny being connected with it. At the same time he has commented that it contains both good and bad ideas.
