STORYLINE:
Halloween has arrived in Dudley, England, where Europe’s largest Halloween superstore, Halloween House, is open for its sixth year.
Spanning over 8,000 square feet, the store in the Merry Hill shopping complex is packed with a wide array of costumes, props, and animatronics.
This year, animatronics are a key feature, with eerie figures like this zombie capturing the attention of shoppers.
From detailed pumpkin light shades to decapitated heads, the store offers a wide range of items for those looking to celebrate the spooky season.
For visitors, it’s the the variety of products and immersive atmosphere which brings them back each year.
Donna Cooper, who has visited the shop since it started, says: "I come every year. I come probably more than once every year. I just like the atmosphere and I think it’s fun."
Sophie Darby visited for the first time and was drawn to the butchers section. She says: "I really like this butchers, just because it’s so strange. I came in here with my little one and there’s areas that she absolutely loves, and there’s areas that she’d rather skip as well."
For Rachael and her son Travis, it’s the unusual sight of animatronics which drew them to the store.
"It’s good to see so many of the animatronics, I think there’s more here this year than I’ve seen before. You see them online in American stores a lot, so it’s nice to see them here," she says.
As Halloween gains popularity in the UK, stores like Halloween House continue to see strong demand, drawing shoppers from across the country.
On some days, the store has had to limit the number of people inside fearing overcrowding.
