STORYLINE:
Russia struck Ukraine’s second-largest city of Kharkiv using aerial guided bombs late on Monday leaving six people injured, authorities said.
Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said: “Hundreds of windows, residential buildings, the premises of the regional hospital were again seriously damaged. Currently, six people are known to have been injured as a result of this attack”.
A UNESCO-protected building was also struck in the attack.
According to the head of the Ukrainian Presidential office, Andrii Yermak, the Derzhprom building was hit by an aerial-guided bomb.
That attack follows a Pentagon statement earlier on Monday that North Korea has sent about 10,000 troops to Russia to train and fight in Ukraine within “the next several weeks,” in a move that Western leaders say will intensify the almost three-year war and jolt relations in the Indo-Pacific region.
