"We see that Russia is leading hybrid attacks against democracies, and the aim is to destabilise these democracies. But we have tools, we work with transparency, we can debunk the misinformation, we can unveil the propaganda and that’s what we are doing on a daily basis to the benefit of a whole region. We see that Russia is trying to spread its false narrative without success, that it is possible for us to stand up with the truth and with transparency and with very clear messaging. So here we are really countering a hybrid attack that Russia is leading against democracies."

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Ursula von der Leyen, European Commission President:
"I’ve just been in Moldova and there too we presented the growth plan for Moldova. We’re working very closely with Moldova to secure their energy supply, also for the upcoming winter and in many other topics, we are working very closely with Moldova. So it is important for the people of Moldova to express their choice as a sovereign country, where they see their future. And we in the European Union very much want to see our common future in the European Union with Moldova."

12. SOUNDBITE (English) Ursula von der Leyen, European Commission President:
"It’s very important that we work together hand in hand. And, as I said, we very much welcomed, for example, the opening of the border (for Serbian goods entering Kosovo) but also the CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement) progress that has been done. And building on that, I think we have to work on further steps so that we get to a point where we are able to have the lifting of all measures (EU measures against Kosovo). This will also help convincing the member states because, as you know, the member states also have to give their consent to every single step. So the two of us are very determined to find all the necessary means and steps forward that we achieve our common goal. For me, it’s important to look at Kosovo, our partner, and to describe and make possible the path into the European Union. This is our common project we have, we are totally committed to that one and you can count on me what that is concerned."
