1. SOUNDBITE (English) Nafessa Williams, actor – on her favorite 80s fashion for ‘Rivals’:
"The fashion was just so fun. I’m a fashion girl, so being able to go back and be an adult in the 80s, like, I was very little, I’m sure, like you in the 80s. So we are 90s kids. But I had little glimpses of like my parents, my mom, my grandma, my aunts, their girlfriends and seeing them dressed up and seeing just Black women in their excellence with their hair and just making sure that I communicated to them what is a real depiction of how a woman would look in the ’80s and making sure we stayed true to that. And they took on my, you know, my collaborative feedback and were open to it. Also, the music — the music was fun too. One of Cameron’s favorite songs that I would like listen to is ‘Nasty Girl,’ — You know, ‘Nasty Girl’ by Vanity 6. So that was one who, like — that song describes exactly who Cameron is. So, would put that on. A lot of Whitney Houston, a lot of Teddy Pendergrass –I’m from Philly — so rich in musical background. So yeah, it was just fun to put all of that together."
