1. Various of crews using equipment to remove what had been protest encampment
STORYLINE:
Crews are removing what had been a pro-Palestinian protest encampment at the the University of California, Los Angeles.
The work came hours after police removed barricades and began dismantling pro-Palestinian demonstrators’ fortified encampment.
Hundreds of protesters defied orders to leave, some of them forming human chains as police fired flash-bangs to break up the crowds.
At least 132 people were arrested, says Sgt. Alejandro Rubio, a spokesperson for the CHP Southern Division.
Heavy equipment was brought it to scoop up the belongings left over at the encampment.
