STORYLINE:
Asian American voters could play an important role in the U.S. presidential election, with polls showing stronger support for Vice President Harris over former president Donald Trump.
Voters of Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino and Pacific Islander descent make up a growing share of the U.S. electorate.
Many Asian American voters are eager to cast their ballot for Harris, who would be the first U.S. president of South Asian descent as well as being the first woman.
But others are more focused on issues rather than breaking racial and gender barriers.
