The Danish royal couple, King Frederik X and Queen Mary, have toured Germany’s parliament accompanied by its president Baerbel Bas on Monday.

Earlier, the couple were welcomed in Berlin with military honours by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at his official residence, Bellevue Palace.

The visit is the first to Germany as king for Frederik X, who took over the throne from his mother, Margrethe II, after she abdicated following a 52-year reign.

In the evening, Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Büdenbender, will host a dinner at Bellevue Palace.
