US Justice Department warns Musk over plans to give away millions in swing states | DW News

To the US now, and a warning from the Justice Department to Elon Musk. You might remember the world’s richest man recently announced plans to give away a million dollars every day until the US election to a voter in a swing state.

US media are now reporting that the Justice Department has told Musk’s Political Action Committee, or PAC, that this might violate federal law. Musk, who supports Donald Trump, has promoted the prize through his PAC to boost voter registration in states that could decide the election. But it’s raised concerns from election law experts and officials over the legality of the prize.
