STORYLINE:
Early in-person voting is underway in Louisiana.
In Covington, Louisiana there was a steady flow of foot-traffic to vote in the 2024 general election but there was no more than a twenty minute wait.
Voters like Sandra Macalusa say avoiding long lines that typically appear on election day is a better way to vote.
"I want to change this country for the better, so voting early, getting it done is a way to do it" she said after casting her vote.
Early voting in Louisiana extends from Friday, October 18 to October 29th but there’s no early voting on Sunday, October 20th.
