(24 Dec 1981) Honduras – one of the lesser known countries in Central America recently elected a civilian government. Most Hondurans are struggling against the conditions of chronic poverty. And with troubled neighbours like Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador, questions have been raised about how long Honduras, often called the archatypal; "banana republic", can maintain its own relative stability.
